Tasks are at the core of Finale To Do. They are designed to be a flexible tool and can be as simple as just keeping notes, or as complex as a proper project management system.
Each task belongs to a specific List, and can contain a due date, time, priority, notifications, repeat settings, subtasks, and notes.
Create and view task details
Tap on the large ➕ plus icon in the bottom right corner to add new tasks. Double tap a task to quickly change its name and date. Long-press a task to preview its information, and tap Edit to open detailed task view.
Using Smart Date Recognition is the best way to quickly add date and time to your tasks.
Priority
Tasks with an explanation mark ❗ in their name are considered High Priority, while tasks with a question mark ❓ are considered Low Priority. Alternatively, you can set priority manually via the detailed task view.
Subtasks
Any task can contain subtasks within. Open the detailed task view and tap on Add Subtask to add unlimited subtasks. Complete or undo subtasks by tapping on the circle ⭕ left of their name. Delete subtasks by leaving their name empty.
Repeating tasks
You can set tasks to repeat daily, weekly, monthly, yearly, or on any specific weekday. After completing a repeating task, a new identical task will automatically be created for the corresponding upcoming date.
Cloud synchronization
You can enable iCloud sync to gain access to all your data on multiple iOS devices (⚙️Settings → General → iCloud Sync). Changes done on one device will be automatically synchronized to all other devices.
When enabling iCloud sync, it is possible that you might already some data backed up to cloud (for instance, from using the app on another device long ago). In such cases, you will see a one-time pop up offering you to either to substitute local data on the phone with the new data from the cloud, or substitute data in the cloud with the local data on the phone. Choose wisely, since these actions are irreversible.
